Development Management team shine through at presentation

Development Management make up part of Growth Services, alongside Infrastructure Investment, Economic Infrastructure, and Economic Development. We regularly attend full Growth meetings to collaborate and knowledge share. In July, Development Management showed the rest of Growth what we do as a team and why. William Porter, Development Management Officer feeds back on an informative day.

The presentation was scheduled in 3 parts with an overview from Planning and Delivery followed by a walk around a nearby site.

The planning team were first to present; Sarah Heslam gave an insight into what the Planning team do and the many processes that they must work through daily, to achieve outcomes while meeting tight deadlines This was followed by a question and answers taken by both Sarah and John Clifton.

Next up was Martin Nash from the Delivery team who gave an overview of what we adopt, why, and how, plus an insight into the stages the Delivery team complete and supporting documents required to get to adoption through the S38 process. Martin followed this with an opportunity for questions.

Both presentations were engaging with many questions and highlighted future collaboration with other departments, who moving forward will collaborate with our teams to help them with their own projects.

The presentations were followed with a walk around the occupied areas of the nearby development by Keepmoat on Foxby Lane, Gainsborough. The group split into two and were led by Will Porter and Joseph Walden. This was an opportunity to see the final stages of the process that they had an overview of during the presentation and the stages and testing we go through to get to adoption. As well as a broad overview other subjects covered included swales, road construction, key stage certificates, easements and footpaths. With questions asked as we walked the site.

Positive feedback has been received following the presentations. Well done to all involved.
